Baby Bath Tub Reviews!

One product  I was throughly confused about when registering was baby bath tubs.  How are there so many that look so different and do the same thing?  Our baby bath tub reviews contemplates four very different looking tubs.  When it comes to the traditional bath tub I did wayyyy too much research but it was worth it because I found one I love.  Love so much we are giving away (not ours but a new one!)!  By the way, if you are wondering when to give your little one their first bath (like we did) it is after the umbilical cord stump  falls off.  True story of what happened in our house… Tyler and I look at each other a few days after Eloise’s umbilical cord stump fell off and asked each other when we got to give our little lady her first bath because we were super excited to do so.  We both realized it was about three days prior…  she was no worse for the wear but we both (especially the one of us with an M.D. after our name) felt silly!  Either way, these four tubs are worth considering and we’d love to hear your thoughts too.  Happy baby bathing! And don’t forget to enter the awesome giveaway!

****This giveaway has ended, congrats to our winner!****

Note all of these tubs are reviewed for infant use.

Puj Tub

This tub is on our Urban Baby Registry Guide for a couple reasons.  One because it is a great tub, two because the storage could not be more compact or easier.  Just hang this handy guy on the back of door (towel rack) and it is out of sight and out of mind until the next use.  The tub conveniently snaps together to create a secure place to bathe your little one.  It is designed to fit a bathroom sink so should work for nearly all households. Even if you are not in an urban environment this is a great tub.  It is super soft, easy to use and cozy for our little ones.  It is also a great knee and back saver since it works in a bathroom sink!

Blooming Bath Baby Bather

Have you guys seen this nifty tub?!? It turns an ordinary sink into a luxurious bath tub.  The Blooming Baby Bather’s soft and cushy petals create a safe and comfy place for your little one to bathe.  The flower doesn’t actually hold water but you place it in the sink and fill the sink with water.  When you are done with the bath, squeeze out excess water, throw in the dryer and voilà your bather is ready to be stored.  Parents seem to really love this concept and I am hoping to have a full page review and giveaway on this tub soon.  One thing to note if you have an irregular sized kitchen sink this may not work well for you.  Be sure to measure before ordering!  This is a great alternative to the traditional tub and as long as you have the space to store a great option for anyone!

Summer Infant Cushy Cradler Tub

The Cushy Cradler tub is best used in an actual bath tub or large kitchen sink.  We have this tub and I can say enough good things about it.  It’s soft, foam material is lightweight and cozy for Eloise.  The tub is contoured to fit a baby and allows for Eloise to snuggle into the tub.  I also appreciate that the surface does not get overly slick and Eloise always stays in place and she seems to feel secure.  The drain is also easy to reach and use when Eloise is in the tub.  I would have never thought of this before purchasing a tub but it is really handy when draining soapy water to rinse with clean water.  It is large and does require ample storage space.  We leave ours in the actual tub, shower curtain closed. The good news, we are giving this tub away!  It is super easy to enter:

– Leave a comment on this post with which tub you’d choose (doesn’t have to be on this list but giveaway is for this tub only)

The winner will be selected at random (using www.random.org) this Friday, November 2nd!*

Tummy Tub

If you are thinking this tub resembles a household bucket you are right – it most certainly does!  However, the Tummy Tub is thoughtfully designed to resemble the womb.  In general parents seem to love the Tummy Tub especially those with colicky or refulx infected babies.  They report that this tub actually helps to soothe their little one which is a huge perk.  As you can probably see, the baby actually “sits” in this tub which makes this one a little different from the traditional angle babies are in when bathed.  The nature of how the baby is in the tub make it easy to give a thorough bath although some parents complain rinsing the hair can be more challenging than a traditional set up.  The Tub is made of BPA free plastic and can fit in a large kitchen sink or bath tub.  Stands made by Tummy Tub can also be purchased separately to bring the Tub to a more natural, easy on the back and legs height.  However, storage for the stand could be tricky unless you have space in a closet.  The Tummy Tub is safety approved and recommended by Peditricans and mid-wives all over the world.  I’d love to hear anyones experience with this Tub!

There you have it, four reviews of excellent baby bath tubs.  Leave a comment with which tub you’d choose and you’re entered to win the giveaway for the Cushy Cradler!
