Harvey spins deeper inland; full scope of damage is unknown

WASHINGTON (WHTM) – Summer Infant is recalling about 86,000 infant bath tubs because the fabric slings can detach, posing a risk of injury and drowning.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says there have been 91 reported incidents of slings detaching on the Lil’ Luxuries tubs, including 11 reports of infants who received a bump to the head.

The recall involves Lil’ Luxuries Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa & Shower with fabric slings. The tubs are battery-operated whirlpool baths with motorized jets intended for use with infants and toddlers. Children are placed on the fabric sling for bathing.

The tubs were sold at Toys R Us/Babies R Us and other stores from October 2012 through October 2013 for about $60.

The CPSC warned the tubs could have been and could continue to be sold on the secondhand market.
