The baby brand Summer Infant is recalling its Lil' Luxuries Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa & Shower because fabric slings can detach from the tub, posing a risk of injury and drowning, the Consumer Product Safety Commission says. So far, the CPSC has received 91 incidents of the sling detaching, including 11 reports of infants who got bumped on the head.

These motorized whirlpool baths are battery-operated and meant for kids from birth to 2 years old. The model in question has a fabric sling where you place your child, rather than a plastic clip, which is sturdier. The CPSC says the recalled tubs are missing a clip to hold the headrest area of the fabric sling in the plastic frame. If you have a tub with a plastic clip, that's still safe to use. Not sure what type you have? The difference looks like this:

Tubs affected in this recall were sold at Toys R Us and Babies R Us for $60 between October 2012 and October 2013. If you have one of these products, a date code starting with 12 or 13 will be printed somewhere on the sling. You should immediately stop using the fabric sling and contact Summer Infant to get a new sling with a plastic clip by visiting its website or calling 1-844-612-4254.

It's always safer to buy your baby products new and avoid using hand-me-downs that could be damaged, out-dated, on in this case, recalled.
