Shower screen vs. pivot door for guest bath

I am renovating our guest bathroom (hall bath in 2 bedroom/2 bath condo) and want to remove the tub and replace it with a shower. I like the idea of just using a shower screen, that will leave an open space to enter/exit vs. installing a pivoting glass door, but a contractor I talked to said he had clients who did not like these once installed due to splashing. I am planning on installing a rain shower head. Has anyone had experience with just using a screen in a shower that did not use daily?
