Bringing Sliding Barn Doors Inside

Gambar
They say every doorway has a story. And it should! That’s why we’re obsessing over these sliding barn doors lately. While the front door is often provided with the most attention, give some love to the rest of the doorways in your home. Barn sliders are super practical for a number of different rooms and situations (of which you will see below), plus there’s something that just seems a little more polite about them than traditional hinged doors . From modern to rustic, here are some great ideas for installing stylish  sliding barn doors : White Out sliding barn door Bringing Sliding Barn Doors Inside " width="880" height="1142" /> Politely close off a bedroom with a sliding barn door like this one from a beautiful home in Mill Valley, California. Designer, Tineke Triggs, had the walls, trim, and door all painted the same white so the door blends in with its surroundings. We love the contrast between the clean pure white and rich dark wood floors , not to...

Which Shower Enclosure to Buy

Wondering which shower enclosure to buy? The first thing to consider when adding a shower enclosure to your bathroom is space. The amount of space you have available to you determines which shower enclosure you will need and only then can you begin to choose from a wide selection of styles. Shower enclosures come in all sizes to suit both large and small spaces. If your bathroom doesn’t have the luxury of space there are still many options available to you with enclosures starting from 760mm all the way up to 1700mm which would be ideal for replacing an old bath fixture. Another option for space saving is to choose doors that do not open out in to the room like corner entry, bi-fold or sliding doors, therefore not needing the extra space. When measuring your bathroom to fit a shower enclosure it is important to bear in mind that you will want it to feel spacious inside and out. So, remember to include enough space inside the shower for washing and outside the shower for drying and oth...

Needing help with half bath reno ideas!!

Gambar
LStafford August 14, 2017 LAYOUT DESCRIPTION DUE TO NOT HAVING PHOTOS: Okay, so my home is a 1985 colonial, and our main floor layout is a bit awkward. The front door opens into a foyer, to the left is the formal dining room , to the right is 1 of 2 entrances into the great room, as well as the stairwell. Continue forward and you will see the back doors which are located in our kitchen. If you then go right from our kitchen, there is a tiny hallway that leads to the 2nd entrance to our great room. Now... here is where it gets awkward. Our great room is rectangular with a fire place in the middle of the exterior wall (you can see the fireplace from the kitchen), there is also a half bathroom located between the kitchen & great room with the door opening up into the great room. Across of the half bathroom door , is the door to the utility room. I do not mind the utility room's placement, however I'm becoming more and more bothered with the half bath. It is the only bathr...

Tyler Morning Telegraph - Tyler couple’s home is the epitome of modern design

When adventurous young couple Josh and Stacy Betts began planning their first home, they talked about the possibilities of incorporating aspects of modern design. After learning more about its aesthetics - clean unadorned surfaces , neutral palette as a backdrop to bold color and an open floor plan - they knew, without a doubt, they wanted to go all in.  They embraced the idea of living in a home that was different. “Anything outside the box is what we went for,” Stacy says. To help make their vision a reality, the couple turned to the expertise of Trent Williams, a custom home builder in Tyler. “We pushed Trent outside his box,” Josh says. Trent agrees. “This is the most modern (style) house I’ve ever done. …  Stacy and Josh did not want what you ordinarily get in East Texas and we made it work.”  From the street, Trent draws attention to the asymmetrical windows across the front of the 4,325- square foot house . “And the (exterior) metal, stone and stucco work in harmony,”...

She Knew I Would | Filthy

Feeling my phone vibrate and looking down to see it was you was surprising. We hadn’t talked in weeks and honestly I was never expecting to hear from you again. But here you were on my phone, so I answered. “Can you meet me somewhere?” you asked. And that shocked the hell out of me. No hello or how are you just, “Can you meet me somewhere.” Curiosity got the best of me and before I knew it, I agreed. Two hours later I’m sitting in the car at this hotel that was half way for both of us and you had already texted me to tell me the room number. I am staring at this building thinking about how quickly everything went really bad and you just walked out my life. There it is again that vibration from my phone and again it’s you and text that reads. “You’re late. Hurry up I want to fuck you.” Now I am really lost just sitting here in the car smiling because your text just turned me on when I know I should be mad because you think it’s just that simple and easy to get me into your bed. I text b...

Design help - Attic bath with sloped ceiling

Gambar
ideashare June 22, 2015 Bath is 5'4" x 11'4", 28" entry door opens into left side of room in front of vanity. Most of the drywall "walls" (not ceiling) have been removed with the exception of a few inches around the vanity & toilet. The current vanity is 36"W & a 22"D x 21"W drywall closet with door has been removed. This drywall closet covered up the Pointy Area in the ceiling. I would miss the function of the linen closet, but removing it has made the room look better and feel much less crowed especially to the side of toilet. I tried shopping for a 36" vanity and 15"W linen closet, but did not know they only seemed to come in 90" 88" 84". Thought of sawing the top off, but afraid I would ruin the cabinet. If I go with the linen closet look again, had planned to drywall the top pointy area above it. The bottom of the pointy area begins @ 79". The bath goes from left to right - old 36"W van...

How to Decorate a Bathroom Without Clutter

Gambar
I think we can all agree that the bathroom can pose significant “decorating” challenges to the layperson. Would you agree? It’s typically such a small space designed largely for utilitarian purposes. While many large and spacious sitting-room- esque bathrooms exist (and good for you if you have those!), they aren’t the norm. In general, bathrooms must squeeze a lot of function into a rather small footprint . View in gallery View in gallery It is this challenge that makes bathroom decorating so important. It’s a space that many people use, so it should be pleasant and well styled. But “decorate” can feel like a loaded word sometimes. In its utilitarian role, a bathroom calls for non-traditional forms of decorating. In fact, I’ve discovered that, often, successful bathrooms are less decorated and more designed. In this article, we’ll look at several ways of how to decorate a bathroom without clutter. View in gallery How to Decorate a Long, Narrow Bathroom A common bathroom layout is ...
