Recently I’ve received a few questions on Formspring asking what kind of body lotion and bubble bath that I’m using. So, today I was like, hmm maybe I should blog about my home “spa” routine. It’s not really like a complete head to toe type spa but it’s a routine that I do every day. I always make sure that I apply lotion before I go to bed because it will keep my skin moisturized throughout the night. Besides keeping my skin moist, the smell of the lotion is really important to me too. I love it when my skin smells like fruits hahahaha, it helps to relax my whole body. Don’t you just love cleaning the bathroom?  They say that it’s hard to sense sarcasm in the written word, but if you didn’t get it in that first sentence then something is wrong!  I don’t just dislike cleaning the bathroom, I hate it!  The number one reason I was happy about getting a water softener in our house is that it is easier to clean the bathroom and I have to do it less often. Marzipan Memories March 2, 2007 It’s amazing how intertwined scent and memory are. Certain smells can take you back to another place and time. The sharp scent of gas reminds me of NP stations in Trinidad, where men in red and black shirts pump your gas for you. The gas in my memory somehow has a sweeter and sharper smell than American gas does. The scent of freshly-struck matches and vanilla candles takes me back to blackouts and hurricanes, the week we spent without power after Hurricane Wilma. And the smell of almond soap takes me back to a horrendous job I had after I graduated from high school. Having a baby comes with having a lot of “stuff”.  And by “stuff” I mean things to take care of baby, for baby to play with, chew on, drool on, eat, poop in and of course sleep in/with. There are lists out there telling you all the things you need for having baby. And that’s all fine and dandy, but what about products that mom’s love that aren’t necessarily a standard item. I’m spoiled, I admit it.  My husband does a ton of housework and that includes most of the  gross stuff, like the bathrooms.  He also does more than his share of the dishes.  I suppose I should feel guilty, but instead, I’m just grateful.
