Welcome back! My tween experienced a rite of passage this weekend. It was her 11th birthday, and either I am totally insane or the coolest mom ever, but she had a spa sleepover birthday party with 5 of her friends. I survived, and the girls had a blast. I will share all of the fun, crafty details in future posts, but here is a sneak peak at one of our crafty gift ideas for the guests. I have given baby onesies and sock cupcakes as baby shower gifts , I have wrapped tween-sized tanks and socks into cupcakes, and I found it only fitting for a Spa Sleepover birthday party , to roll hair towel wraps and elastic hairbands into cupcakes for our party guests. Related Coverage BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)-  Civil rights leaders are being celebrated in Buffalo through a new mural at the northern entrance of the Michigan Street African American Corridor . The Albright-Knox started with a vision for the Freedom Wall months ago and now four local artists are bringing it to life. The artists are John Baker, Julia Bottoms-Douglas, Chuck Tingley, and Edreys Wajed. The individuals involved in the project told News 4 there is no way to tell the history of civil rights through these portraits alone but they hope it will start a conversation and create an opportunity to educate the public. The mural is being painted on the NFTA Cold Springs Bus Depot wall , at the corner of Michigan Ave. and E. Yep, baby onesies turned flowers . One of my favorite baby shower gifts has been a cupcake onesies gift box . And when my neighbor announced she was pregnant and having another boy, I wanted to make one for her too, but with a little twist. WASHINGTON (WHTM) – Summer Infant is recalling about 86,000 infant bath tubs because the fabric slings can detach, posing a risk of injury and drowning. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says there have been 91 reported incidents of slings detaching on the Lil’ Luxuries tubs, including 11 reports of infants who received a bump to the head. The recall involves Lil’ Luxuries Whirlpool, Bubbling Spa & Shower with fabric slings. The tubs are battery- operated whirlpool baths with motorized jets intended for use with infants and toddlers. Children are placed on the fabric sling for bathing. The tubs were sold at Toys R Us/Babies R Us and other stores from October 2012 through October 2013 for about $60.
