Metal mesh works really well in the bathroom. You wouldn’t think so, but it doesn’t rust if you buy the good stuff, and it’s both luxurious and practical. In fact, our aluminum Serenity Shower Curtain is one of our most popular items.

Don’t believe me? Having trouble imagining why you’d want cold, coiled wire fabric in a room associated more with kitten-soft fluffy towels?

Then let’s look at two fictional people, Anastasia and Charlie. I’ve changed the names, but the situations are from real Cascade Coil clients. Keep reading to see how metal mesh shower curtains can meet your needs in the bathroom.

The Problem

Anastasia is an interior designer. A local boutique hotel recently hired her to glam up its suites, which have a high-end vintage feel. She has no trouble making the master bedrooms elegant. But how do you make a bathroom classy, especially one that’s starting to show its age?

Meanwhile, Charlie and his girlfriend Lisa just purchased a new home, and they decide to remodel the bathroom. The first thing to go will be the linen shower curtain, which is a pain to clean and not all that decorative. They toy with the idea of a glass-surrounded shower, but Lisa does some rough estimates and it would be outside their budget. Charlie likes the idea of visually opening up the space, but he needs some help coming up with a way to do it.

Anastasia’s Solution: Brite Pearl Gray Metal Shower Curtains

The hotel owners typically despise shower curtains. They mold. They rip. They just aren’t snazzy. They are hoping Anastasia can find something to help create a more spa-like feel for their bath spaces.

Anastasia was scrolling through Interiors & Sources on her iPad one night when she spotted coiled wire shower curtains. Perfect, she thought. They were stylish, luxurious, and unique — just the thing to add a spa-like touch to the bathroom.

She ordered samples of two finishes, Brite Aluminum and Brite Pearl Gray, before deciding on the latter for its softer look. She was pleased and knew the hoteliers would be too. They would even be able to add the 100% recyclable shower curtains to their list of sustainability initiatives.

Charlie’s Solution: A Custom Satin Gold Shower Curtain

Lisa discovered Houzz last summer, and she and Charlie have been hooked ever since. When looking for bathroom inspiration, two photos caught Charlie’s eye. The first was a bathroom in a rich brown and soft gray. He liked how the coiled wire fabric let light through, helping maintain an open and airy feel. And Charlie knew Lisa would love how soft and sexy the bathroom looked, despite a dark, muted color palette.

The other photo Charlie saved had a bright metallic finish. Again he liked how the mesh shower curtain had a fabric-like drape. As he did more research, Charlie found out coiled wire is practical too, because it inhibits mold, won’t rust, and can be used with or without a shower curtain liner depending on the style of shower you have.

Charlie poked around online and found a custom satin gold Serenity shower curtain that was similar to what he’d seen on Houzz. He showed Lisa, and she agreed the warm tones would look right at home with their color palette. Pleased with his find, Charlie sent the link to their interior designer, who promised to incorporate it in her design.
