Bathroom Wall Panels

Decorative wall panels allow you to dress up your bathroom in a beautiful way. Although ceramic tiles are one of the most popular ways of doing up the shower walls, they often render an old and worn-out look to your bathroom within just a few years of installation. The reason behind this is the grout between the tiles, which begins to discolor and look dirty. On the other hand, wall panels keep your bathroom gleaming for years. They come in a myriad styles and materials so that you can easily match them with the rest of the décor in your house. Styles of Bathroom Wall Paneling Full Wall Paneling: Wall panels come as 4 x 8 ft sheets, which are mostly pre-finished. Full wall paneling includes covering the walls of bathroom with panels from flooring to ceiling. This creates a very uniform and seamless look for the shower walls. Wall panels are often glued to the walls with the help of carpenter's glue. Wainscoting: Wainscoting is a style in which the panels partially cover t...

Tiling above bath/shower advice?

craig1410 posted on 13/2/11 at 01:36 PM Tiling above bath/shower advice? Hi guys, Been searching the web in general on this topic and there seems to be 12 opinions for every aspect of tiling, ALL of them 110% correct, tried and tested over 140 years of tiling experience... I'm more confused now than when I started! Anyway, I'm installing a complete new bathroom suite and have done the plumbing, subfloor, vinyl covering, toilet and basin so far. I've also tiled the wall behind the basin and it's pretty decent. Tiles are ceramic 361x276x9mm with a stone effect print . The backs are ribbed 'biscuit' (I think that's what it's known as anyway) type. I'm using Mapei BuildFix flexible tile adhesive along with the matching acrylic wall primer/sealer and flexible grout . I've also got some grout sealer. I'm tiling onto plasterboard (the green coloured stuff) which has been repaired and sealed with the acrylic primer mentioned above. Nex...

How To Keep Your Dorm Room From Looking Like Bed, Bath & Beyond

Gambar
For many, back-to- school shopping means creating a home away from home: The dorm room. So, how do you make that room yours when you're working with ugly, standard-issue furniture and very little cash? Avoiding the generic, drab, crappy-chic look is a challenge, but with a little ingenuity — and a clear concept — it's easy to make a space that reflects what you love. Advertisement For me, decorating can be a lot like getting dressed: I start with something I like, and build around it. In my current apartment, I really wanted to hang a picture of shoes on the wall — my red heels next to my boyfriend's black and white oxfords. Once I decided that, black and white and red were "my colors." The red couch and black and white zebra rug fell into place, and, when shopping, I didn't even look at anything blue, pink, orange or green. Colors that flatter your skin tone are going to look great when you're surrounded with them — when you start living in the glow of...

How I Saved $1500 in my Bathroom Renovation (and you can too)

Gambar
Jan Romanuk and I were business partners years ago . If you are building or renovating a home (anywhere on the North Shore in Vancouver) and need a designer to choose everything or a project manager, she is the one. There’s very little that Jan doesn’t know about the world of renovations in every aspect. She knows exactly where to source every little thing that your house might need. Jan Romanuk measuring the sconce placement with the template of the round mirror going in my master bedroom. Jan stayed with me this week  to manage all the details of the start of my bathroom renovation and I’m so grateful that she did. Since I spend my days either decorating or specifying colour, renovating is not what I do and I am not an expert in the minutia of what happens next inside a renovation. The demolition happened Monday and the electrician arrived Tuesday . This means you have to have all your lighting chosen. If you don’t, your electrician will likely measure 64″ off the floor (for wall s...

Which Shower Enclosure to Buy

Wondering which shower enclosure to buy? The first thing to consider when adding a shower enclosure to your bathroom is space. The amount of space you have available to you determines which shower enclosure you will need and only then can you begin to choose from a wide selection of styles. Shower enclosures come in all sizes to suit both large and small spaces. If your bathroom doesn’t have the luxury of space there are still many options available to you with enclosures starting from 760mm all the way up to 1700mm which would be ideal for replacing an old bath fixture. Another option for space saving is to choose doors that do not open out in to the room like corner entry, bi-fold or sliding doors, therefore not needing the extra space. When measuring your bathroom to fit a shower enclosure it is important to bear in mind that you will want it to feel spacious inside and out. So, remember to include enough space inside the shower for washing and outside the shower for drying and oth...
