6 Skincare Routine Tips For Transitioning To Cooler Temperatures

While not everyone has to change up their skincare routine with the changing of seasons, many people should—and they don’t even realize it. “Patients with extreme skin types—dry, sensitive skin, or very oily skin—may need to change their regimens in summer and winter for better maintenance,” board- certified dermatologist Rhonda Klein M.D./M.P.H. tells More. If the change in temperatures is causing your skin to react (i.e. dryness, redness, irritation, scaliness, or excess oil), you might want to consider revamping your current routine. But, before you freak out over how much that could cost, we’re not talking a total overhaul. Tweak a few crucial products to prepare your skin for the change and to do some extra summer sun skin clean -up! 1. Put Down The Heavy- Duty Facial Cleanser If you only make one change to your seasonal skincare routine make it this: Switch out your face wash. Put down the heavy- duty foaming cleanser and opt for a creamy one, instead. This simple swap often ...

Should you keep skincare and makeup in the bathroom?

Gambar
When I was a kid, I used to creep into my parents’ room in the morning, to watch my Mom get ready for work. It wasn’t an elaborate process, as she hardly wore makeup except for powder, blush and lipstick, but she would, in the morning and evening, spend a little time at her dressing table. So, I grew up with the notion that a dressing table, or a vanity table was something everyone had, as a place to put their skincare and makeup. I later found out that I wasn’t quite on the mark, because I saw that a lot of people actually talked about keeping their cosmetics – skincare and makeup – in the bathroom. I remember coming across a tip in a magazine once, many years ago, that suggested that skincare, in particular, be kept in the bathroom, so it was within easy reach for use after a shower, or washing your face in the morning and evening. I also recently came across some pictures on Instagram, of people showing off their bathroom shelves filled with their skincare and back-up skincare, and...

I LOVE…Bubble Bath | BOBOSTEPHANIE.COM

Gambar
Recently I’ve received a few questions on Formspring asking what kind of body lotion and bubble bath that I’m using. So, today I was like, hmm maybe I should blog about my home “spa” routine. It’s not really like a complete head to toe type spa but it’s a routine that I do every day. I always make sure that I apply lotion before I go to bed because it will keep my skin moisturized throughout the night. Besides keeping my skin moist, the smell of the lotion is really important to me too. I love it when my skin smells like fruits hahahaha, it helps to relax my whole body. I used to be very addicted into Bodyshop body lotions but I find it quite expensive for me to apply every day, so I stopped using them and have gone back to using normal ones ==” I was lucky enough to receive an email the other day, asking me to review a range of beauty products from  GLAMOGIRL.COM   If you haven’t heard about Glamogirl yet, they are a distributor that markets and distributes several ranges of beauty p...

Aromatherapy Associates are most well known for their oils and with their Miniature Bath & Shower Oil Collection on a lot of people's Christmas wishlists, I thought I would share my thoughts on their infamous oils and my favourites.  The Aromatherapy Associates Miniature Bath & Shower Oil Collection * ( Aromatherapy Associates *, 9x3ml, £32) is the perfect way to try lots of the lovely oils Aromatherapy Associates produce , without having to commit to the full size straight off. Aromatherapy Associates

Aromatherapy Associates Article added on January 5, 2010 A history of Aromatherapy Aromatherapy dates at least back to Ancient Egypt. Embalming, mummification, fragrances for daily life, bath oils as well as the use of aromatics in incense and medicine flourished. The Greek, the Romans, the Persians, the Chinese and the Indians, to name just a few, added to and refined the knowledge. In the 1880s, the German physician Robert Koch and subsequently his French colleagues Chamberland, Cadéac, Meunier, Blaizot, Caldagues and Bertrand proofed the antiseptic and microbicidal properties of essential oils. The term “Aromatherapy” is fairly recent. The French chemist Ren é-Maurice Gattefossé (1881-1950) coined it. Working in the family's laboratory, the perfumer studied the medicinal properties of essential oils. In 1937, he published his knowledge in Aromathérapie, les huiles essentielles , hormones végétales , regrouping previous publications in one book. The other fathers of present- ...

Keri Lotion Review & #Giveaway

Gambar
I used to use Keri lotion a few years ago but stopped. I have no idea why. I guess I moved on with experimenting. However I'm glad I got a chance to remember how very good Keri is for my skin! And it's just in time for the dry winter months that turn my brown skin to ash and wrinkles. I'm getting older, forever 29 , and it's best to keep my skin moisturized both inside and out. I have to admit; I'm a lazy moisturizer. I still have that feeling of immortality and you know you never see yourself aging until one morning you wake up and wonder who is that person staring back at you! But I've been re-directing my mind to be discipline in using moisturizers all over my body and I hope I get into the routine of it. My bottle of Keri will serve me and my daughter for a long while. I'm getting her into the idea of moisturizing early. I didn't have anyone to teach me so I'm lovingly imparting the importance of protecting her skin at an early age. I reall...
