A Custom Six-Pac - Truck Camper Magazine

Gambar
Ken “Bear” Iddins of Buffalo Hats reveals his unique eight-foot custom Six- Pac shell model with an extremely custom, tricked-out, and modified interior.  Are those really stained glass windows ? Many of us have dreamed of designing and building our own truck camper.  One moment you’re sitting in your dinette looking at the kitchen thinking, “Why didn’t they put another cabinet right there?” and the next you’re drawing a truck camper floor plan on a napkin.  We have certainly inked a few ideas this way over the years.  Then the reality the of cost and time involved in such an endeavor hit us.  If truck campers could be built in Photoshop, we would make the world’s greatest truck camper .  Until then, we’re probably just dreaming. Then again, what if we could buy a shell and then have it custom up-fitted to our exact specifications?  That eliminates the need to design and build the exterior structure and allows us to ...

How to demolish a tile shower pan

If you use a handy power tool like this hammer drill and chisel, your mud shower pan floor will soon be chunks of rubble. (Tim Carter) I’ve decided to do a major bathroom remodel job . One thing that needs to be demolished is a full ceramic tile shower with a seat and a concrete mud floor . I’m feeling pretty good about removing the tile from the walls and ceiling, but I don’t know the best way to remove the tile floor and the concrete mud floor . What tips can you offer to minimize the pain both to my body, the family and our possessions? — Mark P., Tampa, Fla. You’re about to undertake a nasty job that few look forward to. The good news is that if it’s a standard-sized shower, then you’ve only got about 10 square feet of misery to face. I’ve demolished my fair share of these mud shower pans over the years. The most recent one was installed by a negligent builder and tile setter over a concrete basement floor with no waterproof membrane whatsoever . This shower also had a sea...

Bathroom Remodel - Installing a Faucet and Sink

Gambar
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Moen, Incorporated for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.  The bathroom remodel continues , this time we are replacing our old sink and faucet. I’m really excited about his part, you’ll see why… So here is the previous vanity. It’s bottom of the line apartment chic , not to mention too small for the space. There was a few problems with our current faucet/sink. First, it was disgusting (I say was because it’s currently sitting on our front porch). The counter/sink (it’s one solid piece) had a sand-papery texture which makes it impossible to clean. I thought it was mineral build-up, but tons of vinegar and cleaners had no effect on it. Second, the faucet leaked so bad that Adam had to shut off the hot water valve to keep it from dripping constantly. He did that TWO YEARS ago. We’ve just never gotten around to messing with it again. Lastly, the faucet squeaked like you wouldn’t believe. It squeaked so bad that when you used it i...
