Good stay - would stay again - Review of Scenic Hotel Auckland, Auckland
The Scenic Hotel is a decent choice if you're looking for a mid-range hotel in the central Business District . It's right on Queen Street, with tons of restaurants and shops in the surrounding blocks. It's a reasonably short walk to the waterfront, Auckland University, the theater district, etc. The Skybus also stops right outside the hotel. The hotel itself is all right. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for a downtown hotel, and everything was clean and reasonably comfortable. The hotel is in dire need of a refresh in the public areas in particular. The bathroom was generously sized, but for some reason had a tiny cruise-ship- style shower stall nestled into the corner. The staff were all reasonably friendly. We didn't try the hotel restaurant at all as there are ample options in the blocks around the hotel. The wi-fi was quick and reliable during our stay.
