Gambar
By Matt Weber Each year, professional remodelers and building- product suppliers put their heads together at the Remodeling Show/Deck Expo, where new tools and materials get a showcase and the craftsman that use them get a chance to offer face-to-face feedback. The Extreme How-To staff will be exhibiting at the convention this year in Nashville, TN, so if you make the trip, stop by booth 525 and say hello. In the meantime, here’s a preview of products that will be on display. Deckorators Heritage Decking Two new Deckorators Heritage deck boards bring interior design to outdoor living . Heritage Riverhouse and Heritage Smokehouse composite decking feature detailed embossing that offers the rustic look and feel of distressed wood flooring . Some buyers want both a shower and tub

June 18, 2005 | By Allison E. Beatty, Special to the Tribune Do you love to lounge in a hot, bubbling bathtub or would you prefer to let invigorating shower jets help get the day started? While some people clearly fall into one category or the other, many home buyers are saying "yes" to both bathroom features. That design has changed, however, as more and more home buyers look for the flexibility of having both a tub and shower available to them in the same room. "In higher-end homes, people still are looking for both," said Jenny Accomando LaVergne , office and showroom manager for CabinetWerks Design Studio , a kitchen and bath showroom in Lincolnshire. "They like the option of taking a nice relaxing bath or a quick shower." When selecting the layout of your bathroom, consider the amount of space you have and what type of routine you follow. In a floor plan with limited ...

Mixed materials such as natural stone or timber are a crowd favourite too, and for good reason. We suggest a timber grain vanity or cabinet to draw the eye - the warmth from the wood will offset the cold look and feel of the bathroom tiling . matte black theme in one’s bathroom can easily be adopted through the tapware, show...

How to make that morning workout routine a reality

You’d probably love to be one of those people who consistently exercise after work. But life gets in the way — kids, work, social commitments — and your daily fitness routine goes out the window. A morning workout routine seem like an obvious answer, but how do you actually, you know, do it? Sleep is your friend Yes, you can turn yourself into an early riser. But not overnight. “It’s possible, but you have to adjust gradually,” says Dianne Augelli, a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. “The body can take an hour or less of [ sleep schedule ] change,” Augelli says. If you normally go to sleep at midnight and get up at 8 a.m., you will not feel rested if you suddenly switch your bedtime to 9 p.m. and get up at 5 a.m. (The American Sleep Association recommends seven to nine hours of sleep per night for adults.) You probably won’t be able to make yourself go to sleep that early anyway, Augelli ...
