Also known as Xerodermia, Xeroderma is defined as a condition involving the integumentary system, which in most cases can be treated with emollients or moisturizers. Xeroderma symptoms include skin scaling , itching, and cracking, and most commonly occurs on the scalp, lower legs, arms, hands, the knuckles, sides of the abdomen, and thighs. " Dry skin occurs when there is not enough water in the stratum corneum for it to function as it should."
