Some buyers want both a shower and tub

June 18, 2005 | By Allison E. Beatty, Special to the Tribune Do you love to lounge in a hot, bubbling bathtub or would you prefer to let invigorating shower jets help get the day started? While some people clearly fall into one category or the other, many home buyers are saying "yes" to both bathroom features. Years ago, master bathrooms typically were built with either a bathtub or shower. That design has changed, however, as more and more home buyers look for the flexibility of having both a tub and shower available to them in the same room. "In higher-end homes, people still are looking for both," said Jenny Accomando LaVergne , office and showroom manager for CabinetWerks Design Studio , a kitchen and bath showroom in Lincolnshire. "They like the option of taking a nice relaxing bath or a quick shower." When selecting the layout of your bathroom, consider the amount of space you have and what type of routine you follow. Bathroom Wall Panels

Decorative wall panels allow you to dress up your bathroom in a beautiful way. Although ceramic tiles are one of the most popular ways of doing up the shower walls, they often render an old and worn-out look to your bathroom within just a few years of installation. The reason behind this is the grout between the tiles, which begins to discolor and look dirty. On the other hand, wall panels keep your bathroom gleaming for years. They come in a myriad styles and materials so that you can easily match them with the rest of the décor in your house. Bathroom Remodel Complete

Gambar
This is the story on how I remodeled a bathroom on a budget! Here’s the tour on this completed bathroom remodel: When tastefully remodeled, bathrooms and kitchens sell homes faster than outdated spaces so we took the extra months to do that. I didn’t go with a dramatic color or bold wallpaper since this remodel is solely for resale and instead made choices that were appealing to a large market. I completed this bathroom makeover yesterday by painting the walls and hanging the new mirror. After the shower remodel , the vanity seemed dingy and dated by comparison so I decided to replace it and along with it the flooring, mirror, lighting, and baseboards. Here is an image of the bathroom before the remodel. It had a cultured marble top and dated lighting and the top of the vanity had a pinkish hue to it and just didn’t look right so I replaced it. Here it is completely remodeled and staged for sale: I wrote about the plan for the vanity in early March. I had ordered this gray vanity ...

A Guide To Bathroom Tiles

Gambar
Whether you’re building from scratch or renovating, when designing a bathroom the type of tiles you choose will have a huge effect on the overall look, feel and functionality of the space. With so many varieties and styles to choose from, the first step is deciding on the look you want to go for – modern, traditional, or maybe something more decorative? Once you’ve decided on a style, you will also need to consider practical aspects such as the size and layout of your bathroom and of course, your budget! WHAT WORKS, WHERE? Before talking about the different ways to tile a bathroom and how to add features or character, it’s important to understand the fundamentals of size, so here’s a quick guide. BATHROOM FLOOR TILES Traditionally, smaller format tiles are used on a floor, because of the “fall”. This means that when there’s water on the floor, it will make its way to the floor waste or drain. This is especially important in the shower, where water pooling can be an issue. For this re...

Matter designed this stunning 300. 0 m2 villa located in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2017. Take a look at the complete story after the jump. In a cramped, steep site on one of the busiest residential streets in Ponsonby, Auckland, there was magic to be found in the form of a dilapidated 110-year old heritage villa. Over two years, the three-bedroom, one-bathroom villa was transformed into a beautiful and functional, family home. Fundamental to its success is the sense of tranquillity and respite the villa’s spaces offer from the inner city lifestyle that the clients love. Carving out portions of the villa, adding masonry wall structures , and substantial retaining facilitated the addition of a new downstairs floor.
